There is often more than one corporate income tax rate that applies to companies: different tax rates for particular groups of products, individual tax rules for providing services and selling goods, etc. For such cases, you can use the Tax Exception feature in Orderry.
Please note that the “Can create an exception for categories and items” permission should be enabled in the employee role settings to set up exceptions.
Tax Exceptions For a Category of Products or Services
1. In the “Taxes” section, click the “+ Tax” button.
2. Find and specify a category.
Note that categories of products and services are displayed in this field.
3. Set tax rules for this category.
Here you can change their application order or add new taxes. Click “Create”.
To create a tax-free exception, do not select the corresponding checkbox.
For example, if all of your goods are taxable, but your services are not, create a Tax-Free Exception for the “All works and services” category.
Done! Now the set tax rules will be calculated for this category of products/services instead of the general ones.
You can see the list of valid exceptions to the tax rules in the product or service category card in the “Taxes” section.
Exceptions for Certain Products or Services
1. Under “Exceptions”, click the “+ Exception” button, select the "Item" type.
2. Find and select the product or service for which the exception applies.
3. Set the tax rules for these goods or services.
Here you can change the order or add new taxes, and then click “Create”.
To create an exception without taxes, do not select the corresponding checkbox.
It is all set now! The configured tax rules will be calculated for these goods or services instead of the general ones.
Important: Tax exceptions in a product/service profile are of higher priority than in the category profile of that product/service.
For example, a VAT is set in the product profile. But in the category profile of such product, there are two taxes: VAT and Regional. In this case, it will only be sold with a VAT, since the product profile is of a higher priority.
Exceptions are displayed separately for Work Orders/Sales and Postings.
