In the Orderry, you can set up expiration date tracking for products to monitor inventory levels in a timely manner and avoid selling expired goods.
How to enable expiration date tracking
In the product card, activate the “Enable expiration date tracking” option.
Specify the expiration date of the product. This field is optional when creating a product, but after activating the option, it will become mandatory for all future receipts.
⚠️ Please note: once tracking is enabled, it cannot be disabled.
Additional options for setting up expiration date tracking for Business and higher plans
When you activate the Enable expiration date tracking option in the product card, additional settings become available:
Enable expiration date notifications - the system will notify you that the product's expiration date is approaching. This will help you sell the product in time or plan a promotion.
Enable critical warning - the system will warn you when the expiration date is critically approaching. This will help you avoid selling expired products and reduce the risk of losses.
In the Orderry, you can set two warning levels for goods with an expiration date: Expiration Date Approaching and Critical Approaching. Both parameters are optional, but using them increases warehouse management efficiency and reduces the likelihood of expired stock.
Limitations and parameter values:
Minimum value – 1 (for both days and months). The value 0 is not used, as the parameter can simply be disabled in this case.
Maximum value:
for days – 31;
for months – 99.
⚠️ Important: the Critical Approximation parameter cannot have a value equal to or less than Expiration Date.
How warnings are displayed:
After configuration, in all places where the quantity of goods is displayed, an icon with the expiration date status will appear next to the balance indicator:
Expiration date - displayed as an empty clock symbol.
Critical proximity - indicated by a filled clock.
Expired products - indicated by a filled red clock.
How the expiration date is displayed
In the warehouse balance table, the expiration date is displayed in a separate column.
Each time a new shipment of this product is received, the expiration date must be specified.
Report on the expiring inventory of products
To quickly obtain up-to-date information on stock levels, use the report “Expiring Inventory”. It allows you to:
see products with an approaching expiration date;
plan their sale or write-off in a timely manner;
launch promotions for products that are about to expire;
minimize the risks of selling expired products.
