We’re excited to announce that Bookings are officially out of beta — now with a powerful new feature set, including an online booking page, new calendar settings, and expanded access permissions.
It’s been a while since we first introduced the Bookings module, so let’s take a moment to recall what it’s designed for.
What Bookings Are Designed For
The Bookings module helps you organize client appointments, manage your team’s workload, and make scheduling simple and transparent for everyone. Whether you’re running a beauty salon, repair shop, or any other service business, Bookings make it easy to plan work time, track employee availability, and give clients a seamless booking experience.
It’s flexible, too — you can use it as a standalone scheduling tool or as the first step before creating orders, tickets, or jobs.
How the Bookings Calendar Works
At the heart of the module is the Bookings Calendar — a convenient visual tool for managing all appointments by employees or resources.
It mirrors your team’s work schedules and can be grouped either by employees or resources (for example, equipment, rooms, or workstations). You can choose among three viewing modes:
Day view – Displays working hours vertically and employees or resources horizontally, so you can see all active bookings at a glance.
Week view – Displays weekdays horizontally and lets you view the schedule of a single employee or resource.
Month view – A traditional monthly calendar for one employee or resource.
Navigating the calendar is simple with buttons that let you switch between days, weeks, and months. Clicking a specific date in the Week or Month view automatically opens the Day view. Also, you can:
Drag and drop them to new dates, time slots, or assignees.
Resize them by dragging the bottom edge to change duration (in Day and Week views).
Open a booking and edit details manually.
And now, you’ve got new settings that make working with the calendar even easier.
New Settings for the Bookings Calendar
In Settings > General, you’ll now find a Bookings section where you can configure your calendar’s appearance and behavior:
Hide unscheduled employees — employees without a work schedule won’t appear in the Day view.
Hide not working employees — those on leave, sick, or off-duty will be hidden from the Day view.
These options help keep your calendar neat, relevant, and easy to read.
Creating Bookings
Creating bookings is quick and intuitive:
Select a date and an employee or resource.
Hover over the start time and click.
In the booking window, specify the client, duration, and assignee.
Add services and comments if needed.
If a service has a predefined duration in My Company > Services, it’s applied automatically. When you add multiple services, their durations are summed up.
You can also duplicate existing bookings from the Actions menu to save time.
Let Clients Book Appointments Online
Another — brand new — way to create bookings in Orderry is your own online booking page. Share a link to your online booking page with your clients, so they can:
Select a location
Choose an employee (the page displays their name, job title, and nearest available time slot)
Pick a service (the page shows services available for the selected employee, including duration)
Select a date and time
Provide contact details
Add the booked appointment to their personal calendar by downloading an .ics file
You can configure your booking page and copy its link in Settings > Public pages > Online booking, where you can:
Customize the design and URL.
Choose available locations.
Allow booking of multiple services at once.
Set up time slots.
In My Company > Services, each service also has its own Online booking settings, so you can define which employees can perform it.
From Bookings to Orders and Sales to Accept Payments
Bookings can work as a standalone scheduling system or as part of your workflow. From the Actions menu, you can:
Create an order (ticket/job) — all client, service, and assignee details are transferred automatically.
Create a sale — perfect for simpler workflows, allowing you to accept payments and add products instantly.
Expanded Access Permissions
In Settings > Employees > Roles, we’ve expanded access control for Bookings. You can now decide who can:
View, create, edit, or delete bookings.
Be assigned to bookings — a new permission that determines whether an employee can be selected as an Assignee.
You can also set whether employees see all bookings or only their own.
Booking History in Contact Profiles
Another improvement is that each Contact profile now includes a Bookings section under Documents, displaying the full history of past and future appointments. This gives your team all the context they need before scheduling the next visit.
What’s Next
We’re not stopping here — more improvements are already on the way, including support for bookings in the mobile app.
In the meantime, we’d love to hear your impressions! Tell us what you think about the new Bookings — what you liked, what’s missing, and what could make appointment scheduling even better for your business. You can always reach us through Support chat.
