How to Configure Asset Types for Different Forms

Learn how to configure different asset types to create separate forms and organize work with assets more efficiently

Written by Xenia

In the Orderry, you can use different asset types for different categories.

For each of these types, you can customize the asset form, making the Orderry even more convenient to use and helping you organize your work with your clients’ and your company’s assets.

For example, if your business repairs electronics, you can use asset types to create separate forms for different groups of devices, grouping them by category. For example: smartphones, laptops, tablets, or home appliances. This allows you to configure custom fields for each asset type and makes working with work orders more structured and convenient.

How to create a new asset type?

Step 1. Go to the “Settings > Form Editor > Assets” page and click the “+” button to the right of the “Asset Type” field.

Step 2. Enter a name and select the asset type from which you want to copy the form. If this is the first time you’re creating a product type, the default value is selected.

You can use emojis in the name. For Windows users, press the “Win + . (period)” keys and select an emoji. If you can’t find the right emoji or are using Mozilla Firefox/Edge, you can visit the emojipedia website. Simply copy and paste the emoji you need.

Step 3. Click the “Create” button.

How do you edit asset types, and what are their uses?
