How To Use Coefficients When Setting Up Employee Salaries

You can set up coefficients on the Payroll Calculations Rules tab in the employee's profile. They allow you to increase or decrease exceptional commissions for services, products, and categories.

You can set different coefficients separately for product categories, service categories, products and services in work orders, and separately for sales.

How do I change a coefficient?

Double-click on the coefficient you want to change. Set a value and click the Apply button. The coefficient value can be a fractional number, a zero, but it cannot be a negative number.

Note: the coefficient will function only for those categories, services, and products with exceptional commissions enabled in their settings!

Coefficients’ Use Cases

You can use a coefficient when you want employees with different seniority levels to receive commissions for the same labor according to their experience and skills.

For example, you have a "Display replacement" service with an exceptional commission of 20.

In the employee profiles, you set up the "To specialist for the labor or service in order" rule with a value of 5% of the amount. In the skilled technician’s profile, you enable a coefficient of 2, and in the apprentice’s profile, you set a coefficient of 0.5 for services in work orders.

Both employees perform the same labor in a work order.

As a result, your tech will receive 40 for this work order (i.e., an exceptional commission of 20 multiplied by a coefficient of 2), and the apprentice will get 10 for this work order (i.e., an exceptional commission of 20 multiplied by a coefficient of 0.5).

You can also use coefficients as additional incentives. E.g., set an increased coefficient for sales of products and their category to the seller who made the most sales last month.

If you set the coefficient to zero, the employee will not receive commissions for services, products, or their categories. The employee will receive 0 instead of the specified exceptional commission.
