We're excited to introduce a long-awaited feature — you can now edit product postings to the warehouse on the Business and Enterprise plans! This marks the start of a series of updates designed to make inventory management even more efficient.

How Can Editing Postings Benefit Your Business?

Editing postings can be a lifesaver in numerous practical scenarios. Made a mistake during posting? Now you can easily fix it, whether it's an incorrect product quantity, serial number, or purchase price. This feature adapts to your business needs, whether it's adjusting for supplier discounts received after delivery or adding additional information after receiving the products.

With this new feature, you can update:

  • Supplier details

  • Warehouse location

  • Invoice number

  • Quantity of non-serial products; for serial products, you can remove, add, or generate new serial numbers

  • Purchase prices

  • Bin locations

  • Supplier warranty on the product

Need to remove a product from the document entirely? No problem, you can do that too. Find step-by-step instructions on posting editing here.

Note that you can edit only postings created after this update release.

When Can You Edit Product Postings?

To edit a posting, you need the appropriate permissions, which you can enable on the "Settings > Employees > Roles" page. Find more details on setting role permissions here.

Another condition is that there must be no movement of products from the batch in question. The document can be edited if no product from this batch has been used in a work order or sale, transferred, or written off from the warehouse.

Remember, for serial products, you'll specify the exact serial number, while for non-serial products, the FIFO (first in, first out) method will apply – the products first posted to the warehouse will be the first to be written off.

How Will You Know What's Changed?

We're working on ensuring that all changes in posting documents are recorded in the Event Log. Expect an update on this soon.

What's Next for Orderry?

Editing postings is just the beginning. Upcoming updates will allow you to edit write-offs, transfers, and returns to suppliers. Additionally, we're working on logging all changes in posting documents in the Event Log.

And that's not all – soon, you'll see an integration of Orderry with WhatsApp, enabling you to add WhatsApp as a communication channel in Chats. Plus, we're developing a Kanban board for work orders, where you can group orders by status and easily move them from column to column.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments about this update or Orderry in general, please reach out in the Support Chat. Your feedback is invaluable, and we're always here to help.
