We continue our series of updates focused on editing warehouse documents, which we began with inventory receipts. If you made a mistake when writing off inventory — such as writing off the wrong item, the wrong serial number, or from the wrong warehouse — this is no longer a problem, as you can now edit write-off documents!
What You Can Edit in a Write-Off Document
Depending on what you need to correct in the document, you can change:
The warehouse from which the items were written off
The quantity for non-serialized products, and for serialized ones, you can remove or add serial numbers
The bin from which the items were written off (if using bin locations)
Remove products from the document
Add new items to the write-off document
Please note that if the warehouse from which you wrote off items is deleted, you cannot edit the document. Additionally, you cannot remove an item from the document if it has been completely deleted from your account's inventory. Lastly, if you have posted a written-off serial number again, you cannot delete that serial number from the write-off document.
Find step-by-step instructions for editing write-offs here.
Who Can Edit Write-Offs
Write-off editing is available for users on the Business and Enterprise plans. You must also have corresponding permission set on the "Settings > Employees > Roles" page to edit write-off documents. Learn more about setting role permissions here.
Note that you can only edit write-offs created after this update was released.
Upcoming Orderry Updates
Following the inventory posting and write-off documents, we will be focusing on editing supplier returns. We are also working on ensuring that changes in warehouse documents are reflected in the Activity Log.
Additionally, look forward to the upcoming release of a Kanban board for orders and the ability to clone orders.
