Connecting Square to Orderry
Integrating Orderry with Square is a tool that greatly simplifies business payments. It allows you not only to accept payments using payment links, but also to automatically record all transactions in the account, eliminating the need for manual data entry. This reduces errors, saves employee time, and increases the efficiency of financial processes.
The transaction fees may vary by country, so we recommend checking the latest information on the official website.
Below are instructions for connecting the integration:
Preparing for integration
1. You have an active Square account. If not, register with Square.
2. Log in to your Square Dashboard account.
3. Go to Account & Settings > My Business > Locations and check that your location is set up correctly (business name, country, currency).
Setting up Square in the Orderry
1. On the Settings > Integrations page, select Square and click on the integration card to go to its settings.
2. Click on the “Integration enabled” checkbox.
3. To add a merchant (legal entity), click the “+ Merchant” button.
4. You will then be redirected to a new window where you need to click the Allow button for the merchant to automatically connect to your account.
5. In the merchant addition window, check the “Active” box.
6. Fill in the merchant name;
7. In the “Account” field, you need to select one of the cashless account in Orderry. This is the account where payments will be credited after successful payment from the client. Please note that you can create a separate account for your company's current invoice on the Finance > Payments page.
8. Check the “Shorten payment link” checkbox to send customers a short payment link.
9. Enable in-person payments if needed. Next, choose how you want to receive the payment:
If you select terminal option, save the settings and reopen the window - a device code will be generated. Copy it and paste it on your POS terminal or the device.
Depending on the hardware you use, directions on where to enter the device code might differ. For most devices (Terminal, Handheld, Register, Kiosk) you need to:
Log out of the device, if you’re already logged in.
On the sign in screen, click Sign in > Use a device code and enter the device code generated in Orderry. Learn about other devices settings in Point of sale device setup > Device Setup section.
❗ This feature is currently unavailable on Square Reader devices. To accept payment for orders, use Scan to Pay: create a payment link in the form of a QR code directly in the mobile app, and the client will be able to scan it and pay for the order.
The device code is active for 5 minutes. If it expires, reopen the merchant settings window — a new device code will be generated automatically. After successfully connecting the device, a Disconnect button will appear in the settings, allowing you to disconnect if necessary.
If you select QR code payments, save the settings, reopen the merchant window and download the QR code (PNG format).
Please note: only one merchant with in-person payments enabled can be connected to an account at a time.
In-person payments cannot be enabled for an existing merchant in the Square integration. To enable this feature, you’ll need to re-connect the existing merchant or set up a new one.
If you've selected the Tap to Pay payment method, simply save your settings. After that, your smartphone will be ready to accept contactless payments and will function as a payment terminal.
10. Click “Save,” and the merchant will appear in the integration settings list.
Done! The merchant has been successfully added and is now displayed in the general list. If necessary, you can create other merchants, i.e., add other legal entities.
Enabling integration
Once you have added active merchants and enabled integration, click the “Save” button. Done! Integration is enabled.
With Square integration, you can automatically create payments links for invoice.
What payment methods are available on Square, and where can I set them up?
Square supports payments via debit and credit cards, as well as digital wallets. Depending on the country and account availability, clients can pay using Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App Pay. Square also supports installment payments through Afterpay/Clearpay in eligible regions.
Afterpay/Clearpay allows clients to split their payment into several installments, while the merchant receives the full amount immediately. The availability of this payment method depends on the country and your Square account settings.
To set up payment methods for Payment Links, go to Square Dashboard > Payments & orders (or Payments & invoices) > Payment links > Settings > General. In the Payments section, you can enable Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Cash App Pay. Card payments are enabled automatically. Apple Pay via browser will only be available if the Safari web browser is used.
For Afterpay/Clearpay, use the separate section Square Dashboard > Settings > Account & Settings > Payments > Payment methods, where you’ll need to enable online payments for this method.
Important: The list of available payment methods in Square may vary depending on your country, currency, payment type, and Square account settings.
