Updated this week

We’re excited to announce the all-new Xero integration for Orderry! This upgrade introduces a two-way sync, simplified connection, and transparent invoice tracking, making managing your invoicing easier than ever.

Previously, our Xero integration was one-sided, only sending invoices and orders from Orderry to Xero. While functional, it was complex to set up and didn’t provide clear visibility of what was actually synced.

Rather than simply updating the old version, we built a brand-new, more efficient solution from scratch – one that’s intuitive to connect and offers complete transparency on your invoice data.

Important: The old Xero integration will remain active for now to avoid disruptions, but it will be phased out soon. We encourage you to switch to the new integration as soon as possible.

Key Enhancements

  • Full Two-Way Synchronization
Invoices will now be automatically updated in both Orderry and Xero. Any changes you make in one system will instantly reflect in the other.

  • Simple Setup
All configuration options are now consolidated in one location, allowing you to connect your Xero account in just a few clicks.

  • Real-Time Sync Status
Track the status of your synced invoices directly within Orderry.

  • Invoice Payment Sync
Payments registered in either Xero or Orderry automatically sync across both platforms.

Note: This integration currently only supports syncing invoices, not other document types like orders.

How It Works

The process is similar to the previous integration, but now with automatic synchronization. You can define which invoice statuses in Orderry trigger automatic updates to Xero, and vice versa.

With invoice statuses mapped between both platforms, they’ll automatically remain in sync — no additional actions needed.

What syncs automatically:

  • Client and Payer Changes
Updating the client or payer in Orderry will reflect in Xero, and any changes made in Xero will be updated in Orderry. (Note: Updates to specific client fields such as phone numbers or addresses won’t sync.)

  • Product and Service Data
Quantities, prices, and discounts sync seamlessly between the two systems. However, product descriptions and other non-financial fields are not included.

  • Invoice Dates
Changes to the issue or due date in either Xero or Orderry will automatically be reflected in the other platform.

  • Invoice Payments
Payments made in Orderry will appear in Xero and payments recorded in Xero will sync to Orderry under the selected payment account.

Manual Sync Option

You can manually sync any invoice at any time by opening it and selecting Sync invoice from the Actions menu.

If the invoice sync is successful, you’ll see confirmation with the date of the last update. If there’s an issue, an error message will appear immediately.

Setting Up the Xero Integration

Follow these simple steps to get started with the new integration:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations, find the two-way Xero integration, and click Configure.

  2. Connect your Xero organization.

  3. Set up automatic invoice synchronization with Xero – status for sending invoices to Xero, account to record payments in Orderry, and account to record payments in Xero.

  4. Map tax settings if required.

  5. Align Xero invoice events with Orderry statuses for seamless updates.

  6. Enable the integration and save your settings.

We’re eager to hear your thoughts. What additional features would you like to see added for Xero integration in Orderry? If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to reach out via our support chat.
