If you use Square to process payments, you can now handle face-to-face transactions without switching between systems. Start a payment in Orderry, and your client completes it on a connected Square terminal or by scanning a QR code.
How It Works
After connecting your Square account and linking a merchant to a financial account in Orderry, you can collect in-person payments using:
Square terminals for card and contactless payments, or
QR code payments, allowing clients to pay from their mobile devices.
Connecting a Square terminal takes just a few minutes. To accept QR code payments, download the QR code generated by Orderry once, print it, and place it at your checkout or service desk.
To charge a client, open the payment window in an order, sale, or invoice and select the financial account linked to the Square merchant. Orderry will send the payment request to the connected device or activate the QR code for the transaction. Then the client simply completes the payment — no manual entry and no double handling.
Payment Session Duration
In-person payment sessions are time-limited:
Payments on a Square terminal must be completed within 5 minutes.
QR code payments remain active for 15 minutes.
If the session expires, simply initiate the payment again.
How to Set Up In-Person Payments for Square
If Square is already connected to your Orderry account:
Go to Settings > Integrations and open Square.
Add a new merchant or edit an existing one.
Enable In-person payments.
Choose your preferred payment method:
Terminal — enter the device code from Orderry on your Square terminal to connect it. (If you want to use the terminal for an already added merchant, please reconnect this merchant first and grant all the required permissions.)
QR code — download and print the generated QR code.
Save your changes.
Once configured, you’ll be ready to accept payments directly from your workflow.
Note: Each financial account in Orderry can be linked to only one Square merchant with in-person payments enabled. If you use multiple Square merchants, each one must be linked to a separate financial account.
New to the Square Integration?
If you haven’t set up the Square integration yet, now is a great time to do it. After connecting Square, you’ll be able not only to accept in-person payments, but also to:
Generate online payment links
Accept payments via the mobile app
Receive payments through the public page of an order
To set up the integration quickly and correctly, follow the step-by-step guide on connecting Square to Orderry.
Square Fees
The Square integration is available starting from the Startup plan and does not require any additional fees on our side. However, Square applies transaction fees to in-person payments. Rates depend on your country and pricing plan. For detailed and up-to-date information, please refer to the official Square website.
