Importing Bundles
The import feature allows you to create and update bundles in bulk from a file without making changes manually. This is convenient when you need to add many bundles at once or edit the inventory of existing ones: export the bundles, make changes to the file, and upload it back.
To use the import feature, your role must have the Can Import Bundles permission enabled. Without this permission, the Import option will not appear in the Actions menu.
Supported import formats:
CSV
XLS
XLSX
How to import bundles
1. Go to Catalog > Bundles.
2. Click Actions and select Import.
3. Upload a file in CSV, XLS, or XLSX format.
4. Map or verify the correspondence between the file’s columns and the bundle fields.
5. Click Import to upload the data.
Important: If an error occurs in even one item of a bundle, the entire bundle will not be created or updated. Other bundles without errors will be imported. After the import is complete, check the results and make corrections to the file only for those bundles that failed to import.
Column Mapping
All fields in the bundle’s structure are available for mapping.
If you are importing a file previously exported from the system, the correspondence between columns and fields is determined automatically based on the column names. In this case, you do not need to configure the mapping manually.
If you are importing a file from another source, manually configure the column-to-field mappings for the bundles.
One row of the file corresponds to one bundle; that is, one bundle in the file occupies as many rows as there are bundles in it.
Updating an existing bundle. Enter the bundle ID in the rows. The system uses this to find the bundle that needs to be updated.
Creating a new bundle. Leave the bundle ID field blank. Rows with the same bundle name are combined into a single new bundle, so be sure to use the same name for all items in a single bundle.
Do not confuse the identifiers in the file:
Set ID determines which bundle a row belongs to. It is the same for all items in a single bundle.
Product ID identifies a product from the Catalog
If a specific field is not included in the mapping, its values in existing bundles will remain unchanged.
Important: Prepare products before importing
The import does not create new products in the Catalog; it only matches existing ones. Therefore, each item in a bundle must correspond to a product that already exists in the system. If the desired product is missing, add it to the Catalog first, and then import the bundle.
The system identifies a product by its name or ID, if specified in the import table, so the name must be unique. If there are multiple products with the same name in the Catalog, the system won’t be able to determine which one is intended, and the bundle won’t be created or updated.
What to do if names are duplicated:
Add the product ID to the import file so the system can identify that specific product. The product ID is a unique system identifier that is automatically generated when a product is added to the system and appears in the table during export.
Alternatively, rename one of the products in the system so that the names are different, and specify the new name in the import file.
Before importing, make sure that each item in the file exactly matches the name of a single product in the Catalog.
Note:
When updating an existing bundle, the import completely replaces its inventory rather than supplementing it. Therefore, do not upload only the item you have changed: the rest of the bundle’s inventory will be lost.
To update a bundle, include all items in the file that should be part of the bundle after import. Items not present in the file will be removed from the set’s inventory.
The most convenient approach is to first export the set, make changes to the already populated file, and then upload it back.
Exporting Bundles
The export feature allows you to save existing bundles to a file without having to retype them manually. This is useful when you need to view or check a large list of bundles at once, prepare data for bulk editing, or create a backup copy.
To use the export feature, your role must have the Can Export Bundles permission enabled. Without this permission, the Export option will not appear in the Actions menu.
1. To export, go to the Catalog > Bundles section
2. Click Actions and select Export.
3. The file will download automatically. The export of bundles is complete!
