In Orderry, you can define a unique identifier for the products in your inventory. By default, the Product Name is unique in the system.

To change the unique identifier for products, follow these steps.

1. Go to the Settings > Inventory page.

2. Select the desired value in the Unique Identifier field in the Settings section.

You can make the Name, Article, or Code unique. Depending on the value you choose, you will not be able to have different products with the same name, article, or code in the future. If you need to add different products that may have the same name, article, or code, you can select the "Not specified" value.

Note: you cannot select a specific value as a unique identifier if the product form does not have this field or if you already have different products that have the same value in this field.

For example, you have deleted the "Code" field in the product form and are trying to make the Code a unique identifier for the product. In this case, you will see the error "Unable to change the unique identifier. Product form doesn’t contain selected field.".

Or you have 2 differently named products with the same article and you are trying to make the Article a unique product identifier. In this case, you will see the error "Unable to change the unique identifier. We found product duplicates by this field in your inventory.".

That is, you need to first create different articles in the products, and then select the article as a unique identifier in the settings.

3. Click the Save button.

Done! Now the value selected in the settings will be used as a unique identifier for all products in the inventory.

Please note that if you have set the Name, Code, or Article as a unique identifier, the corresponding field will be required in the product form. Also, this field cannot be deleted in the product form editor.
