We’re continuing to improve inventory workflow customization in Orderry. After adding statuses for product transfers, you can now create your own custom transfer statuses to better organize internal logistics and adapt transfer workflows to your business processes.
Previously, product transfers supported only a fixed set of predefined statuses:
Draft
Ready to ship
In transit
Received
Completed
Canceled
Now you can create additional custom statuses and build transfer workflows that reflect how products move between your locations, warehouses, stores, or service points.
For example:
a retail business can add statuses like “Packing”, “Waiting for courier”, or “Delivered to store”;
a repair business can separate internal logistics stages such as “Preparing parts” or “Awaiting pickup”;
a distribution company can track transfers through additional shipping and verification steps.
This update helps teams standardize transfer processes, improve visibility of product movement, and track transfer progress more accurately.
What Custom Transfer Statuses Allow You to Do
With custom transfer statuses, you can:
create additional statuses for product transfers;
adapt transfer workflows to your business processes;
track transfer progress with more detailed stages;
standardize inventory movement across teams and locations.
How to Create Custom Transfer Statuses
To create transfer statuses:
Go to Settings > Statuses > Transfers.
Create and configure the statuses you need.
Set up the workflow order for status transitions.
For each status, you can also configure who can view and change it.
On Business and Enterprise plans, you can additionally set status time limits — the maximum time a transfer can remain in a specific status.
If needed, you can always use the step-by-step instructions on configuring the transfer statuses. After setup, employees will be able to use the new statuses when working with product transfers.
Custom statuses help make inventory movement more transparent and allow teams to organize transfer workflows in a way that matches their actual operational processes.
